My name is Ben Daniel. I'm a Full-Stack Developer working in Melbourne, Australia.
I love to code. When I'm not coding at work I'm usually coding at home on side-projects.
When I'm not coding at home (or sometimes while I'm coding at home) I'm watching a good sci-fi/comedy flick or series with my furr-kids.
I have worked in varying sized workplaces from startups to large ASX 100 listed companies.
I've had the pleasure of learning many tools, libraries, frameworks and skills. There are too many to list here but here's a few of my current favourites.
-
Slava Guzenko
Technical Lead at Officeworks
Ben is a truly agile senior developer in the sense of knowing how to work well in the team, analyse problems, speak to stakeholders, define stories, slice them into manageable chunks, and get them delivered with proper testing and quality built-in.
He would happily volunteer to run a retro, tidy up a board, organise a team event like playing board games on a Friday night, or go to a conference and present a brown bag session afterwards to share the learnings with the team.
I will not hesitate to recommend Ben for any software development role he decides to pursue and would love to work with him again in the future if such an opportunity arises.
-
Katie Franklin
Product Designer at Vicinity Centres
Ben approaches every task with rigour and creativity, seeking quality and efficacy of result. As the lead product designer on our project, I was always impressed by Ben’s attention to detail, and consideration of impact to experience, security and performance.
It’s clear Ben takes a lot of pride in his work and in mentoring others. As a natural teacher, his approach to this could not be more constructive.
I frequently observed Ben supporting his team mates to work through a problem or to help them find ways to elevate the quality and clarity of the codebase, which encouraged them to repay the favour.
If you’re looking to create a collaborative, egalitarian developer culture, Ben is the sort of quiet achiever who can get this happening via a movement, rather than a mandate.
-
Laurence Myers
Development Team Lead at LT Network
Ben is a conscientious, self-motivated software developer, who takes responsibility for any task. He does not shy away from single-handedly delivering complex functionality from inception to deployment
Most importantly, he's good fun to have on a team!
If you have the opportunity to work with Ben, take it!
-
Hudson Graham
Senior Platform Engineer at Tabcorp
Ben is a passionate and hard working developer that leads by example.
Ben's ability to analyse and tackle complex problems is a real asset to the team and is not hampered by a restrictive lower stack and ever changing requirements. Ben puts in the extra time where needed and always delivers testable, production level code.
I'm always keen to nerd-out with Ben about the office and at lunch times and I would recommend Ben very highly for any fast moving, successful team.

Aron Templeton
Software Solutions Architect at Essence Group APAC
I’ve worked with many developers over the years and would consider Ben one of the very few standout developers I know.
Ben lives and breathes his craft. He learns new technologies at an envious pace and has a knack for applying these things with finesse on any given project.
I endorse Ben and would welcome the opportunity to work with him again.
